Overwatch 2's newest hero Freja will join the game as a DPS character in Season 16. A former search and rescue operative turned bounty hunter, Freja brings precision-based gameplay with her signature Revdraw Crossbow.

Freja's abilities include:

• Revdraw Crossbow: Rapid-fire bolts for consistent damage
• Take Aim: High-speed explosive bolt for area damage
• Quick Dash: Directional mobility with instant explosive bolt reload
• Updraft: Vertical mobility for tactical positioning
• Ultimate - Bola Shot: Explosive that binds enemies and pulls in nearby targets

Players can try Freja during a free trial weekend in Season 15, before her official launch in Season 16 (April 2025).

Additionally, Blizzard teased Hero 44, codenamed "Aqua" - a Chinese character with water-based abilities that will launch in Season 18 (August/September 2025). Aqua's role remains unannounced, but they promise to bring innovative battlefield manipulation mechanics.

2025 will also introduce several new features to Overwatch 2:

• New Perks system
• Third-person "Stadium" mode
• Return of loot boxes
