Invited Teams Announced for PGL CS2 Cluj-Napoca Major Tournament
PGL, the premier esports tournament organizer, has announced the initial roster of invited teams for the highly anticipated CS2 Major in Cluj-Napoca. The tournament, scheduled for March 2024, will feature 24 teams competing for a prize pool of $1,250,000.
Eight teams have received direct invitations based on their outstanding performance in previous tournaments:
- FaZe Clan
- Team Vitality
- G2 Esports
- MOUZ
- Cloud9
- Team Spirit
- Natus Vincere
- Heroic
The remaining 16 slots will be filled through regional qualifiers across Europe, Americas, and Asia-Pacific regions. These qualifying matches will take place in early 2024.
The tournament will follow a three-stage format:
- Opening Stage (March 17-20)
- Elimination Stage (March 21-24)
- Champions Stage (March 28-31)
This marks the first CS2 Major in Romania, highlighting the country's growing importance in the global esports scene. The event will be held at the BT Arena, which can accommodate over 10,000 spectators.
