Apple's New AirTags Coming in 2025 with Enhanced Anti-Stalking Features
Apple plans to release an upgraded version of AirTags in mid-2025, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. This will be the first hardware update since their April 2021 debut.
The new generation of AirTags will focus primarily on security and privacy improvements, with two main enhancements:
- Extended tracking range
- Reinforced speaker design to prevent tampering, improving anti-stalking protection
The physical appearance will remain largely unchanged from the current model, suggesting this update prioritizes functional improvements over aesthetic changes.
While the update comes four years after the original release, it appears to be an incremental upgrade focused on addressing security concerns rather than introducing major new features.
