
PGL Reveals Cluj-Napoca 2026 Major Plans and Confirms Two Events for 2027
PGL has unveiled plans for the upcoming CS2 Major in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, scheduled for winter 2026. The event will be held at the BT Arena, featuring a prize pool of $1,250,000 and bringing together top CS2 teams from around the world.
Expanding their commitment to esports, PGL also announced two additional Major events for 2027: one in spring and another in winter. This makes PGL the first tournament organizer to secure hosting rights for multiple CS2 Majors in advance.
The tournament will continue the established Major format:
- Regional Major Rankings (RMR) qualifiers
- 24 teams competing across multiple stages
- Challengers Stage
- Legends Stage
- Champions Stage

BT Arena Cluj-Napoca
Cluj-Napoca's BT Arena, formerly known as Sala Polivalentă, has previously hosted successful CS:GO tournaments, including the 2015 Major. The venue's 10,000-seat capacity and modern facilities make it an ideal location for high-tier esports competition.
This announcement marks a significant milestone for Romanian esports, bringing another prestigious tournament to the region. Ticket information and specific dates will be announced closer to the event.
The 2027 Majors' locations and venues will be revealed in future announcements, with PGL promising ambitious production values and enhanced viewer experiences for all upcoming events.
