NYC's First Video Game Festival Brings Esports, Education, and Competition to Manhattan
The inaugural NYC Video Game Festival will take place on Saturday, May 31, at Convene Brookfield Place in lower Manhattan, featuring esports competitions, arcade games, and indie game demonstrations.
The festival's highlight is the finals of the fifth-annual Minecraft Education Battle of the Boroughs Esports competition, where students from across New York City compete by creating solutions to real urban challenges using Minecraft. Fifteen teams, representing elementary, middle, and high schools from each borough, will participate in the finals.

This festival kicks off the NYC Summer of Games initiative, with various gaming events planned throughout the summer months across the city.
