Naafiri Rework Coming to PBE: Riot's Plan to Breathe New Life into the Champion
According to Riot Games' recent announcement, Naafiri is set to receive a significant rework, with changes scheduled to hit the PBE (Public Beta Environment) in the coming weeks.
The champion has struggled to maintain a balanced state since their release, oscillating between being overpowered in professional play and underperforming in standard ranked games. This rework aims to address these consistency issues while preserving Naafiri's core identity as an assassin.
Key changes planned for the rework include:
- Modified damage scaling to be more predictable
- Adjusted pack mechanics for better clarity
- Enhanced visual feedback on abilities
- Improved ability interactions
Riot's lead designer mentioned that the primary goal is to make Naafiri more accessible to average players while maintaining their high-skill ceiling. The team is particularly focused on making the champion's pack mechanics more intuitive without sacrificing the unique gameplay elements that define Naafiri.
The rework is expected to go live with patch 13.24, pending successful testing on the PBE. Players can test these changes on the PBE servers once they become available, with Riot actively seeking community feedback to fine-tune the adjustments before the official release.
For players interested in trying the reworked version, PBE accounts are available to all League of Legends players with honor level 3 or higher. The testing period typically lasts two weeks before changes move to live servers.
