Concurrent enrollment allows high school students to take Baker College courses directly at their high school or technical center during regular school hours. These courses are taught by qualified high school teachers or Baker College professors and offer several key benefits:

Key Benefits:

  • Free college courses, reducing overall college costs
  • Credits from an accredited four-year college
  • Convenient learning at your high school during normal hours

How to Enroll:

  1. Submit the online application (select "Undergraduate" then "RunningStart")
  2. Send high school transcript to [email protected]
  3. Complete the online Student Welcome Experience after approval

Concurrent Enrollment vs. AP Classes:

  • AP credits depend on exam scores (usually 4+ out of 5)
  • Concurrent enrollment credits are earned by passing the class
  • Focus is on learning rather than test performance

Accreditation: Baker College's RunningStart program is accredited by the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP), ensuring:

  • College-level course rigor
  • Quality teacher training
  • Smooth transition to college
