Fortnite Players Find These Skins Are Actually Pay-to-Lose in Ballistic Mode
Players are discovering significant visibility issues with certain character skins in Fortnite's new Ballistic first-person mode, effectively making some popular cosmetics "pay-to-lose."
The problem stems from the first-person perspective, where players can see their character's hands and forearms. Skins with bulky features, large hands, or additional armor elements obstruct crucial parts of the screen, making it difficult to aim and spot enemies effectively.
Particularly problematic skins include:
- Mecha Team Leader
- Mecha Strike Commander
- Bakugo
- Edward Scissorhands
- Baymax
The issue extends beyond static obstruction, as some skins with large upper arms or armor pieces create distracting flickering effects during movement. This visual interference significantly impacts gameplay performance in the Ballistic mode.
This isn't Fortnite's first encounter with cosmetic visibility issues - similar problems occurred with Edward Scissorhands' blade animations obscuring screen visibility, though the current situation in Ballistic mode presents more severe gameplay disadvantages.
Until Epic Games addresses these concerns, players are advised to avoid using bulky or heavily armored skins when participating in Ballistic mode matches.
