Activision has outlined its Ranked Play matchmaking system in Black Ops 6, addressing growing concerns about cheating in crossplay matches.
Four key factors determine matchmaking in Ranked Play:
- Competitive integrity restrictions
- Connection quality
- Rank/skill and performance
- Time to match

Crossplay between console and PC remains mandatory to maintain a large player pool and ensure balanced matchmaking. However, this decision has sparked controversy due to increased encounters with PC cheaters using wallhacks and aimbots, significantly impacting the console gaming experience.
Activision acknowledges these concerns, stating they are "continuing to gather community feedback" and working with Team RICOCHET to address cheating reports. The company recently admitted that RICOCHET Anti-Cheat's performance during the Ranked Play launch in both BO6 and Warzone fell short of expectations.
While improvements are promised for seasons two and three, many players are requesting the option to disable crossplay on consoles to avoid hackers and enhance their gaming experience.
